COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Precision Medicine and Oncology provides students with an in-depth understanding of cancer biology, personalised healthcare, and advanced research methodologies. Core modules include Cancer: Bench to Bedside, which explores the translation of laboratory discoveries into clinical practice, and Psycho-oncology, which examines the psychological aspects of cancer care. Students gain expertise in omics strategies through Omics for Diseases: Theory, Practice and Applications, and study the principles and applications of personalised treatment in the Precision Medicine module, complemented by a hands-on Precision Medicine Project. Research Methods equips students with the skills to design, conduct, and critically evaluate biomedical research. A range of optional modules allows students to tailor their learning to specific interests, including Clinical Microbiology in the Post-Antimicrobial Era, Monitoring Signalling Molecules in Neuroscience, Ageing: Pathology and Prevention, Techniques in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biological Membranes: Drug Targets and Disease, Regenerative Medicine and Medical Devices, and the opportunity to undertake a Placement or Internship for practical experience. This combination of theoretical knowledge, practical laboratory work, and research training prepares graduates for careers in biomedical research, clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical development, or further academic study. The course equips students with the expertise to contribute to innovations in personalised medicine, cancer treatment, and translational healthcare.
