COURSE CURRICULUM

The course is delivered through a flexible modular structure designed to meet the learning needs of a wide range of professionals working in or alongside nuclear medicine, including radiologists and radionuclide radiologists, nuclear medicine technologists and radiographers, clinical scientists, oncologists, and cardiologists. Students can choose to study full-time or part-time to accommodate clinical and professional commitments. Teaching is primarily provided online and on demand, enabling remote study, and is complemented by live online seminars and tutorials that encourage interaction and discussion with expert faculty and peers. Applicants are strongly encouraged to begin their studies with the compulsory module MDM132: Physics, Radiopharmacy, and Regulations, which provides essential foundational knowledge of the scientific principles and regulatory frameworks underpinning nuclear medicine and is required for those pursuing PGCert, PGDip, or MSc awards. All modules within the program are also available as standalone options for Continuing Professional Development, allowing learners to take individual modules without committing to a full postgraduate qualification. To ensure a coherent and progressive learning experience, students are advised to complete MDM132 before undertaking clinical nuclear medicine modules, and to study MDM133 (Single Photon Nuclear Medicine) and MDM134 (FDG PET-CT) prior to MDM129 (Advanced Multimodality Imaging).
