COURSE CURRICULUM

The Finance and Investment MSc integrates core financial theory with applied analytical skills to prepare students for careers in investment, trading, financial analysis, fund management, and consultancy. Core modules include Economics of Financial Markets, Financial Theory and Practice, and Investment Management, which provide a comprehensive understanding of financial systems, market dynamics, and portfolio management. Applied Econometrics and Financial Time-Series Analysis equips students with advanced quantitative skills to analyse financial data and identify market trends, while Financial Risk Management focuses on evaluating and mitigating financial risks in dynamic market environments. Research Methods for Finance and Economics develops the ability to conduct rigorous research and critically assess complex financial information. The program also features an MSc Finance and Investment Dissertation, allowing students to pursue an in-depth research project on a specialised area of finance, and the Live Brief module, which provides opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Full-time students may undertake a Work Placement Project, gaining practical industry experience and enhancing professional skills.
