COURSE CURRICULUM

The Finance and Accounting MSc combines theoretical study with practical application to provide a comprehensive understanding of financial and accounting principles. Core modules include Financial Theory and Practice, Economics of Financial Markets, and Contemporary Issues in Accounting, which develop students’ knowledge of financial systems, market dynamics, and current developments in accounting practice. The Economics of Money, Interest Rates, Banking and Financial Institutions module explores the structure and operation of financial systems, while Investment Management introduces techniques for managing portfolios and assessing financial risk. Research Methods for Finance and Economics equips students with the skills to conduct rigorous research and analyse complex financial data. The program also includes an MSc Finance and Accounting Dissertation, allowing students to undertake an in-depth research project on a topic of their choice, and the Live Brief module, which provides opportunities to apply knowledge to real-world business challenges. Full-time students may also complete a Work Placement Project, gaining hands-on experience in an industry setting and enhancing professional skills. By integrating academic theory, practical exercises, and industry engagement, the MSc prepares graduates for careers in accounting, finance, investment management, and related sectors.
