COURSE CURRICULUM

The Regenerative Medicine and Devices MRes is designed to equip students with advanced scientific knowledge and practical research skills in the rapidly developing field of regenerative medicine. The course combines core modules, including Regenerative Medicine and Medical Devices and Evaluating Research in Biosciences, with a substantial MRes Research Project, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to hands-on experimental work. Students are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary approaches, integrating concepts from biology, biotechnology, engineering, and clinical sciences to develop innovative therapies and medical devices. Optional modules enable further specialization in areas such as applied nucleic acid biochemistry, cancer research, ageing and disease prevention, neuroscience, nanotechnology, and industrial manufacturing processes, providing flexibility to tailor the course to individual interests and career goals. The program emphasizes translational research, critical evaluation of scientific literature, and the application of cutting-edge laboratory techniques, preparing students to address complex healthcare challenges. Graduates gain expertise in tissue engineering, cellular and gene-based therapies, biomaterials, and medical device development, alongside skills in research design, data analysis, problem-solving, and scientific communication.
