COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graphic Design MA is structured around a combination of core modules that integrate research, professional development, and practical project work to advance students’ creative practice. Project Development provides the foundation for students to explore and define their design ideas, encouraging experimentation and critical reflection while fostering innovative approaches to visual communication. Research Methods equips students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to investigate design concepts, analyse existing practices, and apply evidence-based approaches to creative problem-solving. Through Research Presentation, students develop the ability to communicate their ideas effectively, both visually and verbally, refining their storytelling and professional presentation skills. Project Resolution focuses on the culmination of the student’s creative work, guiding them through the development of a coherent, ambitious final project that demonstrates technical expertise, conceptual depth, and engagement with contemporary social, political, and environmental issues. The Professional Development module ensures students are prepared for careers in the graphic design industry, providing opportunities to develop portfolio work, understand professional practice, and engage with real-world design challenges.
