COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM postgraduate qualifying law program combines comprehensive academic study with practical skills to prepare graduates for a career in law or related sectors. Core modules such as Legal Systems, Methods and Skills provide students with a foundational understanding of legal reasoning, research, and analysis, essential for success in the legal profession. Contract Law, Criminal Law, Public Law, Land Law, EU Law, Law of Torts, and Equity and Trusts cover the essential areas of law required for professional qualification, enabling students to develop a broad and in-depth understanding of legal principles and their application. The program also emphasizes practical and experiential learning through modules such as the Street Law – Public Legal Education program, which allows students to engage with communities, applying their legal knowledge in real-world educational and advocacy settings. The Dissertation module provides an opportunity for independent research, encouraging critical thinking and analytical skills while allowing students to explore a specific area of interest in depth. Together, the combination of theoretical study, practical experience, and research prepares graduates to meet the standards set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board, ensuring they are equipped to pursue careers as solicitors, barristers, or in other legal and regulatory roles.
