COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Management with Economics degree at Brighton provides students with a comprehensive understanding of business principles alongside specialised economic skills. In the first year, all Business Management students study core modules covering marketing, finance, economics, organisational behaviour, human resource management, and enterprise, providing a solid foundation in business theory and practice. Classes are scheduled over three days each week, with additional opportunities for campus activities, and students develop essential knowledge and skills applicable across multiple sectors. In the second year, students begin to specialise by selecting modules in economics and business management, such as economic theory and applications, international business analysis, and managing digital transformation, alongside optional modules in areas including finance, leadership, digital marketing, and applied business analytics. This stage emphasises analytical, quantitative, and decision-making skills, preparing students to evaluate market dynamics and interpret economic data effectively. In the final year, students refine their expertise and tailor their degree through a range of optional modules in economics and business, covering topics such as financial and capital markets, environmental economics, game theory, development economics, international finance, and corporate social responsibility. Core modules in management, strategy, and professional practice consolidate learning and prepare students for professional careers, equipping them with the analytical, strategic, and practical skills needed to succeed in complex and evolving business environments.
