COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electronic and Communication Engineering BEng(Hons) degree provides a comprehensive education in designing, developing, and implementing electronic and communication systems. In the first year, shared with the Electrical and Electronic Engineering course, students build a strong foundation in engineering concepts, mathematics, digital electronics, artificial intelligence, and embedded systems, with design projects integrating practical and theoretical learning. In the second year, the focus expands to computer programming, radio and navigation systems, microcontrollers, programmable logic, communication networks, digital systems design, dynamics and control, and engineering design. Students gain advanced programming skills and practical experience in specialist laboratories, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios and refining problem-solving abilities. The final year allows students to specialize further, exploring digital signal processing, microprocessor systems design, wireless networks, product design, and innovation management. The individual project gives students the opportunity to investigate a topic of personal interest, demonstrating independent research, technical expertise, and project management skills. The course emphasizes professional development, encouraging teamwork, communication, and critical thinking.
