COURSE CURRICULUM

The Content Creation degree provides a structured pathway to develop both technical skills and creative expertise in digital media. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge through modules such as Introduction to Content Creation, Study Skills in the Creative Industries, Digital and Web Media Design, Content Creation for Social Media, Introduction to Visual Promotion, and Understanding Audiences: Theory and Context. These courses build essential skills in visual storytelling, audience analysis, and digital communication, providing a strong basis for more advanced work. In the second year, students begin to apply their learning to practical projects, exploring the social, economic, and environmental aspects of content through Making; Society, Economy and Environment (SEE), and creating live content in modules like Content Creation – Live Project, Podcasting, Developing a Content Creation Portfolio, Promotional Video Production, and Social Media for Activist and Community Groups. These experiences foster creativity, collaboration, and professional awareness. In the final year, students consolidate their skills and focus on innovation and real-world application. Modules include Content Creation Futures, Digital Media Marketing and Innovation, Content Creation – Final Major Project, Professional Portfolio, and Professional Practice. The year culminates in a ten-week live project, where students develop, run, and evaluate a media initiative in partnership with an external organisation, preparing them for professional careers in content creation, marketing, media, and digital industries.
