COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Tourism and Hospitality programme includes a range of modules designed to develop students’ understanding of tourism, hospitality management, research, and the global visitor economy. The Hospitality Management Studies module focuses on key management principles used within the hospitality sector, including customer service, operations, leadership, and business performance. Through Tourism Concepts and Issues, students explore major trends, challenges, and developments affecting the tourism industry at both national and international levels. The Research Methods for the Service Sector module helps students develop essential research, analytical, and problem-solving skills while learning how to evaluate data and conduct research relevant to tourism and hospitality businesses. Students also study Current Practices in the Visitor Economy, which examines the operational, social, and economic aspects of tourism, hospitality, and events industries while analysing how organisations respond to changing customer expectations and global market conditions. In addition, the programme includes a Tourism and Hospitality Major Project, allowing students to conduct independent research on a topic related to their career interests and apply theoretical knowledge to practical industry challenges. Throughout the course, students strengthen their communication, strategic thinking, and critical analysis abilities while gaining insight into the global tourism and hospitality sector. Overall, the programme prepares graduates for management and leadership careers in tourism organisations, hotels, events, travel businesses, and related service industries.
