COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Nursing Practice programme includes a range of core and optional modules designed to develop advanced nursing knowledge, clinical decision-making, leadership abilities, and research skills. Core modules include Approaches to Applied Learning for Healthcare, which helps students strengthen professional learning strategies and apply theoretical knowledge to healthcare practice. Contemporary Decision-making Skills in Health Care focuses on improving clinical judgement, problem-solving, and evidence-based decision-making in healthcare settings. Through the Research Methods module, students develop the skills required to conduct academic and clinical research, analyse healthcare data, and evaluate evidence to improve patient care. The Leadership and Innovation for Sustainable Health Care module explores leadership strategies, healthcare innovation, and sustainable practices that support effective healthcare delivery and organisational improvement. Students also complete a Research Project, allowing them to investigate a healthcare-related topic in depth while enhancing their analytical, research, and academic writing skills. In addition to the core modules, students can choose specialist optional modules in areas such as Adult Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Learning Disability Nursing, or Mental Health Nursing. These options allow students to focus on contemporary health assessment skills relevant to their professional interests and clinical practice areas.
