This Data Science programme provides a structured pathway into modern data-driven careers by combining technical computing knowledge, applied analytics, and professional development skills. In the early stages, students build a strong foundation through Data Science Fundamentals, where they are introduced to core concepts such as data handling, programming basics, statistical thinking, and how data is used to solve real-world problems. Machine Learning and Data Analytics develops these skills further by teaching how to identify patterns in data, build predictive models, and apply algorithms that support decision-making in areas such as business forecasting, recommendation systems, and trend analysis. Alongside technical modules, Technology Management for Organisations helps students understand how digital technologies are implemented and managed within companies, focusing on strategic decision-making, organisational change, and the role of technology in improving efficiency and innovation. Data Science Product Development introduces a more applied and industry-focused approach, where students learn how to design, build, and evaluate data-driven products and solutions, bridging the gap between technical models and real-world user needs. The programme concludes with a Computing Master’s Project, a major independent research and development task worth 60 credits, where students apply everything they have learned to solve a complex, real-world problem using data science methods, often involving data collection, modelling, analysis, and evaluation. Across the course, students develop practical experience with industry-standard tools and techniques, preparing them to work confidently in professional environments.
