COURSE CURRICULUM

The Money, Banking and Finance MSc equips students with a solid foundation in both theoretical and applied aspects of finance, banking, and monetary policy. In the first semester, students develop their understanding of macroeconomic principles and econometric techniques through core modules, which provide the analytical tools needed to examine complex financial systems. Optional modules allow students to specialize in areas such as asset pricing, portfolio theory, behavioural finance, corporate finance, or microeconomic analysis, providing a well-rounded understanding of financial markets and decision-making processes. In the second semester, the focus shifts to banking and monetary economics, covering the functioning of financial institutions, regulatory frameworks, and the impact of monetary policy on economies. Students also gain practical experience in econometric methods, choosing between cross-sectional, panel data, or time series approaches to apply quantitative analysis to real-world financial and banking problems. Additional optional modules enable further exploration of derivatives, international finance, industrial organization, and advanced econometrics. The program emphasizes integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications, preparing graduates for careers in central banks, commercial banks, investment firms, financial consultancy, and regulatory organizations. By the end of the course, students are well-equipped to analyze, interpret, and respond to challenges in the dynamic fields of money, banking, and finance.
