COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Information Management is a comprehensive program that equips students with the technical and managerial skills needed to excel in the information management industry. The course structure requires 180 credits, including core, optional, and dissertation modules. Core modules cover key areas such as Information and Knowledge Management, Information Governance and Ethics, Information Systems Modelling, and Information Architecture and User Experience Design, providing a solid foundation in managing, organising, and analysing information. Modules like Information Retrieval and Information Analysis and Visualisation for Decision-Making enhance students’ ability to use data for strategic insights, while Research Methods and the Dissertation module develop advanced research and project skills. Students can tailor their studies through optional modules, choosing either a technically focused path with Database Design and User-Centred Design or a managerial route with Digital Business, Business Intelligence, AI in Organisations, and Archives and Records Management. The Project Management module is particularly recommended for improving employability and practical leadership skills.
