COURSE CURRICULUM

The Finance MSc is designed to provide students with a rigorous understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and analytical methods for evaluating financial instruments and market behaviour. In the first semester, students take core modules in Asset Pricing and Portfolio Theory, Behavioural Finance, Corporate Finance, and Econometric Methods, establishing a strong foundation in financial theory, decision-making psychology, investment analysis, and quantitative techniques. In the second semester, students choose a core module in Applied Econometrics, selecting either Cross-sectional and Panel Data Approaches or Time Series Approaches, which equips them with advanced skills for analysing financial data and testing empirical models. In addition, students select three optional modules, offering further specialisation in areas such as Derivatives, Options, and Securities, Applied Econometrics, and the Theory of Banking, allowing them to explore financial markets, instruments, and banking systems in greater depth. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, using case studies, data analysis, and research projects to develop problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking. Graduates gain the skills necessary to pursue careers in investment banking, asset management, risk analysis, corporate finance, and consultancy, as well as for further academic research, with a strong ability to analyse complex financial systems, assess risk, and make informed, data-driven decisions in dynamic global markets.
