COURSE CURRICULUM

The Finance and Accounting MSc is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of financial markets, accounting practices, and analytical techniques, combining both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Core modules include Principles of Data Analytics, equipping students with essential skills to analyse financial data and support decision-making, Corporate Finance, Comparative Finance and Financial Services, Sustainable Finance, and Research Methods for Finance and Accounting, which provide the tools to evaluate financial strategies, assess market structures, and integrate ethical and sustainability considerations. The Project Dissertation allows students to undertake independent research, applying analytical and critical skills to real-world finance and accounting problems. Students also select two modules from Corporate Governance, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis, and Sustainability Accounting and Accountability, enabling them to develop specialised expertise in corporate oversight, accounting processes, and sustainability reporting. Additionally, two modules are chosen from Issues in Finance, International Finance, Risk and Uncertainty, Financial Management, and Portfolio Management and Investment, allowing students to explore financial markets, investment strategies, and risk management in depth. Together, these modules combine analytical, technical, and strategic skills, preparing graduates for careers in investment banking, corporate finance, auditing, consultancy, financial management, and regulatory or advisory roles, while fostering ethical awareness, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to make informed, responsible financial decisions in complex and dynamic business environments.
