COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business and Organisational Psychology MSc is structured around a comprehensive set of modules that equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to apply psychology in workplace settings. Core modules include Applying Psychology to Work and Organisations, which introduces key principles for understanding human behaviour in organisational contexts, and Leadership, Engagement and Motivation, which examines strategies to inspire and manage employees effectively. Learning, Training and Development and Selection and Psychological Testing in Organisations provide insights into employee skill development, recruitment processes, and assessment techniques. Statistical Methods for Occupational Psychologists and Research Methods for Occupational Psychologists develop the analytical and methodological skills required to design, conduct, and interpret organisational research. Work Design, Organisational Change and Development explores how to structure jobs, teams, and organisations to enhance efficiency and adaptability, while Well-being and Work focuses on strategies to promote employee health, satisfaction, and productivity. The Dissertation allows students to apply their knowledge to an independent research project, developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and evidence-based practice skills. Collectively, the modules prepare graduates for careers in human resources, organisational consultancy, talent management, and other roles where psychological expertise is used to improve workplace performance, employee engagement, and organisational effectiveness.
