COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aerospace Engineering MSc provides a comprehensive and practical education in aerospace principles, combining theoretical study with hands-on experience and research opportunities. Core modules cover essential topics such as Aero Propulsion, Aerodynamic Design, Aircraft Design, Aircraft Dynamics and Control, and both stages of the Aerospace Group Design Project, where students design, build, and test aircraft systems. The Individual Investigative Project allows students to undertake independent research, applying advanced analytical, computational, and experimental techniques to solve real-world aerospace challenges. Optional modules enable students to tailor their learning to specific interests and career goals, with examples including Advanced Aerospace Propulsion Technology, Advanced Control, Advanced Engineering Fluid Dynamics, Advanced Dynamics, Aviation Safety and Aeroelasticity, Design and Manufacture of Composites, Motion Control and Servo Drives, Real-Time Embedded Systems, and Energy Storage Management. Across all modules, students develop technical expertise in aircraft design, propulsion systems, aerodynamics, control engineering, and materials, while also honing problem-solving, computational modelling, and project management skills. The program integrates collaborative projects, laboratory work, and professional training, fostering teamwork, communication, and innovation.
