COURSE CURRICULUM

The Public Health MPH program provides a comprehensive curriculum that develops the skills required to understand, evaluate, and improve population health. Core modules such as Epidemiology, Health Needs Assessment, Planning and Evaluation, Introduction to Research Methods, and Introduction to Statistics and Critical Appraisal build a strong foundation in research design, data interpretation, and evidence-based health practice. The Dissertation allows students to apply these skills to an independent research project addressing a relevant public health issue. Critical Reflections in Global Health encourages students to engage with global health challenges and consider ethical, social, and cultural dimensions of health systems. A wide range of optional modules enables students to tailor their studies to their professional interests. Options include areas such as Disaster and Emergency Management, Communicable Disease Control, Economic Evaluation and Healthcare Financing, Health Promotion, and Public Health Informatics. Students may also explore advanced analytical and qualitative methods through modules like Further Statistics for Health Science Researchers and Qualitative Research Design and Analysis. Other options, including Foundations in Health Policy, Leadership and Management and Psychological and Sociological Approaches to Health, enhance understanding of health behaviours and policy frameworks. Overall, the program blends theory and practice to prepare graduates for leadership, research, and policy roles in public health.
