COURSE CURRICULUM

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with advanced skills in health research, epidemiology, and public health practice. Core modules provide a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical research techniques. Students begin with Epidemiology, Introduction to Research Methods, and Introduction to Statistics and Critical Appraisal, which together develop a robust understanding of study design, data analysis, and the evaluation of scientific evidence. Qualitative Research Design and Analysis enhances skills in interpreting non-numerical data, while Critical Reflections in Global Health encourages students to consider ethical, social, and cultural dimensions of health interventions worldwide. The Randomised Controlled Trials module provides practical insight into designing and evaluating clinical studies, supporting evidence-based decision-making. The dissertation allows students to apply their knowledge to an independent research project, fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex findings effectively. Optional modules enable students to tailor the program to their professional interests, with choices including Health Needs Assessment, Planning and Evaluation, Communicable Disease Control, Economic Evaluation and Healthcare Financing, Health Promotion, Public Health Informatics, Systematic Reviews, and Further Statistics for Health Science Researchers.
