COURSE CURRICULUM

The Architecture: Collaborative Practice MArch integrates professional experience with advanced academic study, equipping students with the skills to excel in contemporary architectural practice. In the first year, core modules such as Live Project 1, Architectural Research Methods, Management and Practice 1, Reflective Design Practice, Environment and Technology in Practice 1, Dissertation Proposal: Collaborative Practice, and Reflections on Architectural Practice introduce students to real-world design challenges, research methods, and professional workflows. These modules emphasise collaboration, critical reflection, and the integration of environmental, social, and technological considerations into architectural design. In the second year, core modules including Design 3, Design 4, Live Project 2, Design Manifesto, Environment and Technology 2, Management and Practice 2, and Dissertation 2 build on this foundation, allowing students to advance their design expertise, tackle complex projects, and produce substantial independent research or design work. The program encourages engagement with live projects and collaborations with leading architectural practices, providing practical experience in design development, project management, and client interaction. Through this combination of studio work, professional practice, and research-led learning, students develop technical proficiency, creative problem-solving, and professional competence. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in architecture, consultancy, urban design, and related fields, combining practical experience with the critical and analytical skills required to address contemporary architectural challenges.
