COURSE CURRICULUM

The Politics, Governance and Public Policy MA combines theoretical and practical approaches to understanding policymaking and governance at multiple levels. Core modules provide students with the tools to analyse the policy process, understand political systems, and conduct independent research, culminating in a dissertation that allows students to explore a specific area of interest in depth. The program emphasises the interconnectedness of politics, governance, and policy, encouraging students to examine how political decisions are shaped by institutional structures, social contexts, and global trends. Optional modules allow for the study of contemporary issues such as global security, development, democratic governance, environmental politics, public health, and international relations, giving students the flexibility to tailor their learning to their career goals and research interests. Through case studies, applied research, and critical engagement with real-world scenarios, students develop analytical and practical skills to assess policy effectiveness and the impact of governance mechanisms.
