COURSE CURRICULUM

The Philosophy, Politics and Economics BA is a three-year interdisciplinary program designed to equip students with the analytical, theoretical, and practical skills necessary to understand and engage with complex social, political, and economic issues. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through core modules such as Principles in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, Thinking Politically: Key Concepts, and Foundations of Economic Analysis and Policy, alongside Ethics and Society. Optional modules allow exploration in areas such as political thought, economic history, philosophy, and social issues, providing opportunities to tailor the degree to individual interests. The second year deepens knowledge in each discipline with core modules including Political Theory in Practice and Statistics and Econometrics, while students explore additional topics such as political philosophy, case studies, ethics, philosophy of AI, and global history of philosophy. Optional modules cover contemporary political, economic, and social issues, including international economics, migration, global capitalism, macroeconomic policy, and social justice. In the third year, students consolidate their learning through a capstone module and a final year research project, applying interdisciplinary approaches to real-world problems. Optional modules allow specialization in philosophy, politics, or economics, covering topics such as ethics and belief, global justice, political leadership, elections, international trade, health economics, and environmental economics. Graduates gain critical thinking, quantitative analysis, and research skills, preparing them for careers in policy, government, international organizations, business, and research.
