COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc (Clin) Endodontics program offers a structured three-year curriculum designed to develop advanced clinical, research, and professional skills in endodontics. In the first year, students focus on preclinical skills, clinical treatment and consultation sessions, communication development, and attendance at national endodontic meetings, alongside initiating a research project. The second year builds on these foundations, incorporating biostatistics, research methods, specialist courses, personal development, teaching experience, and continued clinical practice and national meeting attendance, enabling students to integrate evidence-based knowledge into clinical decision-making. The third year consolidates expertise through advanced clinical treatment, specialist courses, health services exposure, teaching experience, and continued research activities. Core course units include Clinical Endodontics, Applied Endodontics, Pre-Clinical Skills, Reflective Clinical Practice, Basic Science of Applied Endodontology, Research Methods, Biostatistics, the Endodontics Portfolio, and the MSc Dissertation. These units provide comprehensive training in diagnosis, treatment planning, complex endodontic procedures, and critical analysis of clinical outcomes. The program emphasizes the development of technical competence, reflective practice, and professional growth, ensuring students gain both the practical expertise and research skills necessary for specialist practice. Graduates are prepared to sit the Membership in Endodontics examination, pursue academic research, and contribute to the advancement of patient care in endodontic dentistry.
