The MSc Textile Technology (Technical Textiles) program offers a detailed and rigorous curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and research expertise in textile science and engineering. Core modules such as Introduction to Materials Science, Essential Textile Technology, Advanced Textile Technology, and Textiles Evaluation & Clothing provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the properties, processing, and performance of textile materials, as well as methods to assess the quality and functionality of finished products. Research Methods and the PGT Dissertation enable students to develop independent investigative skills, apply scientific and engineering principles to real-world textile challenges, and contribute original insights to the field. The module Respect and Dignity at Manchester supports professional development and ethical practice within an inclusive learning environment. Optional modules such as Advanced Composites and Technical & Biomedical Textiles allow students to specialise in cutting-edge areas, exploring innovative applications and advanced material technologies.
