COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Robotics program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive and practical understanding of modern robotic systems, integrating theory, software, and hands-on project experience. In the first semester, students study core topics including Robotic Systems, Foundations of Machine Learning, and Software for Robotics, which provide essential knowledge in hardware, algorithms, and programming for robotic applications. Alongside these, students undertake the Robotic Systems Design Project, a practical unit spanning both semesters, allowing them to apply learned concepts to real-world design challenges. In the second semester, the curriculum builds on this foundation with advanced topics such as Autonomous Mobile Robots, Robotic Manipulators, and Cognitive Robotics and Computer Vision, enabling students to explore intelligent systems, manipulation, perception, and decision-making processes in robotics. The Robotic Systems Design Project continues, giving students the opportunity to consolidate their skills through applied project work. The program culminates in a summer dissertation, where students conduct an independent research project, often focused on cutting-edge areas such as autonomous systems, human-robot interaction, or machine learning applications in robotics. By combining rigorous theoretical instruction, practical design projects, and research-led learning, graduates gain the expertise required for careers in robotics engineering, automation, and related technological fields, as well as preparation for further doctoral research.
