COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Reproduction and Pregnancy (Research) provides a structured and comprehensive approach to developing advanced research skills in reproductive medicine and pregnancy. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical laboratory and research experience, offering students a strong foundation in reproductive biology, maternal-fetal health, and experimental techniques. Core modules such as Laboratory Skills and the Reproduction and Pregnancy Masterclass introduce students to essential laboratory techniques, experimental design, and advanced concepts in reproductive science. The Tutorial Unit on Reproduction and Development Tutorials supports learning through discussion, critical analysis, and integration of scientific literature. Students engage in two substantial research projects, providing opportunities to undertake original investigations, develop experimental skills, and gain experience in data collection, analysis, and interpretation. The Research Methods module equips students with the necessary skills for rigorous scientific inquiry, including study design, statistical analysis, and evidence-based evaluation. Optional modules, such as the Masterclass in Experimental Development Biology, allow students to further specialise and refine their expertise in specific areas of developmental and reproductive biology. Through this combination of taught modules and hands-on research experience, the program prepares graduates for careers in academic or clinical research, biotechnology, reproductive health, and related scientific and healthcare fields, fostering skills to contribute meaningfully to advancements in fertility and pregnancy outcomes.
