COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Pure Mathematics program offers a rigorous and flexible curriculum combining core research skills with advanced study in abstract mathematics and mathematical logic. The program’s core includes the Research and Project Skills module, which develops essential analytical, writing, and independent research abilities, and a substantial Dissertation, allowing students to explore an advanced topic in pure mathematics or mathematical logic under the guidance of a supervisor. Students may select from a broad range of optional modules to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals, covering diverse areas such as Measure Theory and Ergodic Theory, Differentiable Manifolds, Algebraic Topology, Riemann Surfaces, Lie Algebras, Galois Theory, Graph Theory, and Representation Theory. This selection allows students to focus on theoretical, logical, or applied aspects of pure mathematics, while developing the skills necessary for advanced research or doctoral study. Teaching is delivered through a combination of lectures, examples classes, project work, and independent study, ensuring a strong balance between theoretical understanding and practical application.
