COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Global Development (Development Management) equips students with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage development interventions in complex and dynamic contexts. The program combines core theoretical insights with hands-on experience to prepare students for professional roles in international development, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and consultancy. Core modules include Development Fundamentals, Development Fieldwork, Global Development Challenges, Development Research, and the Dissertation, which together provide a comprehensive understanding of development theory, research methods, and applied practice. Students also engage with Planning and Managing Development and Development Management Actors and Concepts, which explore the practical and strategic aspects of managing projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders. Optional modules, such as Public Sector Reform and Management, Poverty and Development, and Fundamentals of Human Resource Development, allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests and career goals. The program emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to apply development theory to real-world scenarios, fostering a deep understanding of the economic, social, and political dimensions of development management.
