COURSE CURRICULUM

The MRes Management program offers a comprehensive selection of optional units designed to develop advanced research skills, quantitative and qualitative analysis capabilities, and professional competencies for students pursuing careers in research, consulting, or doctoral study. Students can choose from a variety of units such as Risk, Performance and Decision Analysis, Mathematical Programming and Optimisation, and Machine Learning for Business to gain expertise in advanced analytical and computational techniques relevant to contemporary management challenges. Units like Workplace Research and Analysis Skills, Professional Skills: Research and Evaluation Methods, and Research Skills for Professional Practice 1 and 2 focus on developing the practical research skills necessary for conducting independent studies, managing projects, and applying rigorous evaluation methodologies. Quantitative methods are covered in units such as Cross Sectional Econometrics and Applied Statistics and Business Forecasting, providing students with the ability to analyze complex datasets, model business problems, and draw evidence-based conclusions. Qualitative Research Methods equip students with skills to investigate organizational phenomena, gather and interpret rich textual or observational data, and complement quantitative analyses.
