COURSE CURRICULUM

The MEd Psychology of Education offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates core psychological principles with their application to educational settings, providing students with the knowledge and skills to enhance learning, development, and well-being. Core modules such as Learning and Individual Differences focus on understanding how cognitive, social, and developmental factors influence learning, while Social Psychology, the Classroom and Communities examines the impact of social dynamics and community contexts on educational outcomes. Cognition and Education and Introduction to Neuroscience and Education provide insight into the biological and cognitive processes that underpin learning, equipping students to apply evidence-based approaches to teaching and intervention. Psychological Perspectives in Child Development explores the developmental trajectories of children and the factors that shape their academic and social growth. Research Principles and Practice, along with Research Analysis and Evaluation, develop advanced skills in research design, data collection, and critical evaluation, enabling students to assess and apply educational research effectively. Applied Prevention in Education focuses on proactive strategies to support student well-being and prevent learning or behavioural difficulties. By combining theoretical understanding with practical application and research skills, the program prepares graduates for careers in educational practice, educational support, policy development, or research, while providing a strong foundation for further study or professional development in psychology and educational psychology.
