COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA in Peace and Conflict Studies offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical insights with practical skills to equip students for careers in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and international policy. Core modules include Rethinking Peacemaking in the 21st Century, which explores contemporary approaches to resolving conflicts, and Practical Approaches to Studying Conflict-Affected Societies, providing hands-on methodologies for researching and engaging with communities impacted by conflict. The Dissertation enables students to undertake independent, in-depth research, contributing to academic and practical understanding of peace and conflict issues. Optional modules allow students to tailor their studies according to specific interests, covering topics such as Humanitarianism and Conflict Response, Anthropology of Violence and Reconstruction, and Humanitarian Diplomacy and Negotiation in Practice, which offer practical and analytical perspectives on crisis management and reconstruction. Additional options such as Governing in an Unjust World, The Ethics of Killing, Global Governance, and Human Rights in World Politics encourage exploration of ethical, legal, and political dimensions of international interventions.
