COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature provides students with a comprehensive understanding of post-1900 literary studies, combining advanced theoretical and practical engagement with a wide range of texts, genres, and cultural contexts. The program includes a core dissertation unit, allowing students to pursue independent research on a topic of their choice, developing critical analysis, research, and scholarly writing skills. Optional units cover diverse areas such as the relationship between literature and politics from 1970-2000, modernist movements, postcolonial literatures, and twenty-first century literary culture, enabling students to tailor their studies to specific interests. Other options explore intersections of literature with gender, sexuality, and cinema, providing interdisciplinary perspectives on cultural production and critical thought.
