COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA International Political Economy (Research) program provides students with an in-depth understanding of the complex interactions between politics and economics in a global context. Core modules develop essential research skills, including research design, qualitative and quantitative methods, and the philosophy of political research, preparing students to conduct independent, rigorous investigations in international political economy. Students explore critical perspectives on globalisation, international political economy, and the dynamics shaping economic systems, enabling them to analyse contemporary issues such as global inequality, migration, financial governance, and comparative capitalism. The dissertation provides an opportunity to apply learned methods and theoretical frameworks to original research, fostering advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Optional modules allow students to tailor their studies to their specific interests, including migration, mobility, displacement, the politics of money and finance, and comparative capitalism, further enhancing their knowledge and expertise.
