COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Humanitarianism and Conflict Response equips students with a comprehensive understanding of both the practical and theoretical dimensions of humanitarian work, focusing on crises, conflict, and post-conflict environments. Core modules provide rigorous training in research and evaluation methods, enabling students to critically assess humanitarian programs and policies. Through the dissertation and inquiry-based learning, students develop advanced analytical skills, applying theory to real-world humanitarian challenges. Optional modules allow students to specialise in areas such as the anthropology of violence and reconstruction, armed groups and humanitarian aid, humanitarian diplomacy and negotiation, mental health and psychosocial support in crises, youth in conflict and displacement, economics, peace and conflict, and the history of humanitarian aid. This flexible approach allows students to tailor their learning to their professional interests and career goals.
