COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Educational Leadership program provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills to develop effective leadership in a variety of educational contexts. Core modules, including Engaging with Education Research, Educational Research Methods and Design, Contemporary Issues in Education Leadership, Educational Leadership and Diversity, Education Policy, and School Improvement, equip students with the tools to critically analyse educational systems, lead organisational change, and implement evidence-based practices. These modules emphasise understanding and applying leadership theories, addressing diversity and inclusion, and evaluating policy impacts, while fostering research skills to inform decision-making and strategic planning. Optional modules, such as Theories of Teaching and Learning, Digital Media and Information Literacy, Blended Learning in a Digital Age, and Digital Literacy in Language Teaching and Learning, allow students to tailor their studies to individual interests, including pedagogical innovation, technology integration, and instructional leadership. The program encourages reflection on leadership practice, ethical considerations, and challenges faced in diverse educational settings, enhancing students’ professional development and critical thinking. Graduates leave equipped with transferable leadership and research skills, prepared to assume leadership roles in schools, higher education, educational organisations, and policy-making bodies, driving organisational improvement, fostering inclusive practices, and contributing to the advancement of effective and innovative educational leadership locally, nationally, and internationally.
