COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Economics program offers comprehensive training in both theoretical and applied economics, preparing students for careers in policy, research, and the private sector. Core modules such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Introduction to Econometrics, Further Econometrics, Mathematics for Economists, and Introduction to Quantitative Methods in Economics provide a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and data-driven decision-making. The MA Dissertation allows students to undertake an extended independent research project, applying their knowledge and analytical skills to a specific economic issue or policy question. Optional modules, including Development Microeconomics, Macroeconomic Theory and Policy, and Poverty, Inequality and Government Policy in Less Developed Countries, enable students to tailor their studies to specific areas of interest, such as economic development, social policy, and advanced macroeconomic analysis.
