COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Public Health program provides a structured and progressive curriculum across three years, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience necessary for a career in public health. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge in evidence-based practice, global health, health improvement, and health protection, alongside learning about healthcare systems and core public health principles. The student development program supports personal and professional growth, ensuring a strong grounding in academic and practical skills. In the second year, the curriculum builds on these foundations, deepening understanding of evidence-based practice, global health challenges, and strategies for health improvement and protection. Students also undertake a literature review project, fostering research and critical analysis skills essential for public health practice. The third year focuses on consolidating and applying learning to real-world public health challenges, emphasizing evidence-based practice, health improvement, and health protection in diverse populations. Students complete a substantial public health dissertation, enabling independent research and analytical skills development, while the student development program continues to support professional growth. Throughout the program, students gain an integrated understanding of the social, environmental, and policy factors affecting population health, preparing them to assess health needs, design interventions, evaluate health services, and contribute effectively to improving public health outcomes locally and globally.
