COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Medical Physiology program at the University of Manchester offers a comprehensive exploration of human physiological processes and the disruptions that occur in disease. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, human body systems, neuroscience, and laboratory techniques, alongside academic skills such as scientific writing and referencing. Practical sessions are integrated to develop hands-on experience in physiological measurement and experimental techniques. The second year advances this understanding with in-depth study of physiology, endocrinology, membrane excitability, and integrative body systems, complemented by modules in human sciences and science communication.
