COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Management (Innovation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship) program at the University of Manchester equips students with a strong foundation in business management while providing the opportunity to specialise in innovation, strategy, and entrepreneurship. In the first year, students gain essential knowledge in microeconomics, marketing, financial decision making, financial reporting, management accounting, work psychology, quantitative methods, and management and organisation studies, alongside professional case studies and academic career development, providing a well-rounded introduction to management principles. In the second year, the focus shifts to core modules in creativity, design and entrepreneurship, and foundations of strategy and innovation, ensuring students develop critical skills in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and business innovation. Optional modules allow exploration of areas such as investment analysis, financial statement analysis, consumer behaviour, financial markets, intermediate management accounting, and finance fundamentals, giving students flexibility to tailor their learning. In the final year, students further enhance their expertise through modules including business data analytics, consultancy projects, corporate governance, digital transformation in accounting, and advanced finance topics, with additional optional units in international finance, share prices, financial derivatives, and contemporary reporting issues. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing graduates for careers in strategic management, business development, consultancy, start-ups, and innovation-led roles, while also equipping them for postgraduate study.
