COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Environmental Management program provides a comprehensive study of environmental systems, human impacts, and strategies for sustainable management. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in environmental processes, urban and environmental economics, ecology and conservation, applied environmental science, and principles of environmental management, alongside practical skills in GIS and digital tools for decision making and sustainable design. The second year focuses on applying this knowledge through modules such as landscape ecology, environmental planning and assessment, data analytics for environmental management, corporate sustainability projects, and applied research with fieldwork. Students also have the opportunity to gain real-world experience through optional professional placements and explore societal responses to climate change. The final year emphasizes independent research and applied management through a dissertation, conservation management project, and environmental law, with optional modules including wildlife in the Anthropocene, plant ecology and global change, environmental impact assessment, green infrastructure, rewilding, and planning for nature recovery. The program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing students for careers in environmental consultancy, conservation, sustainability, policy, and management. By combining scientific understanding, technical skills, and applied projects, graduates are equipped to address complex environmental challenges, contribute to sustainable solutions, and advance professionally in both local and global contexts.
