COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Educational Psychology program combines psychology and education to provide a thorough understanding of human development, learning, and behaviour in educational contexts. In the first year, students develop essential academic skills and gain foundational knowledge in psychology, childhood development, and educational theory. Core modules cover the brain’s role in learning, exploring psychological principles in the classroom, social psychology, and research methods, equipping students with the skills to analyse human behaviour and learning processes. In the second year, the program builds on this foundation by introducing modules on risk and resilience in development, cognition and learning, and data analysis in psychology and education. Students also examine the professional context of counselling and educational psychology, linking theory with practical applications. In the final year, students complete a major project, allowing them to undertake in-depth research in educational psychology. Modules also focus on current issues in special educational needs, interventions in schools, and the application of prevention science to education, providing practical strategies to support learners. Across all three years, the course emphasizes research-led teaching, evidence-based practice, and the development of professional skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in educational and counselling psychology, teaching, research, and other roles that require a deep understanding of psychological principles applied to education and human development.
