COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Accounting program is structured over three years to provide a comprehensive foundation in accounting, finance, and related business disciplines, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. In the first year, students study core subjects including Financial Reporting, Introductory Management Accounting, Financial Decision Making, Quantitative Methods for Accounting and Finance, Auditing and Professional Accounting Practice, Law for Accountants, Principles of Taxation, and introductory courses in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. These modules establish essential accounting principles, financial literacy, and an understanding of economic frameworks. The second year builds on this foundation with advanced core modules such as Financial Statement Analysis, Financial Reporting and Accountability, Intermediate Management Accounting, Foundations of Finance, Business Strategy, and Professional Accounting Practice, while optional modules including Investment Analysis, Financial Markets and Institutions, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Employment Relations allow students to specialise according to their interests and career goals. The third year focuses on contemporary and applied aspects of accounting, with mandatory modules like Contemporary Issues in Financial Reporting and Regulation, Accountability and Auditing, and Corporate Financial Communication and Valuation. Optional modules such as International Finance, Financial Derivatives, Digital Transformation in Accounting, Corporate Governance, Financial Engineering, and Corporate Contracting provide opportunities to explore specialised areas in depth. The program equips graduates with professional, analytical, and decision-making skills required for careers in accounting, finance, auditing, and business consultancy, while supporting progress towards ICAEW qualification.
