COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree offers a structured progression through foundational, intermediate, and advanced topics in electrical and electronic engineering. In the first year, students develop essential knowledge in principles of electrical and electronic engineering, digital electronics, electronic materials and devices, programming, and software engineering, complemented by mathematics tailored for engineering applications. This foundation equips students with the analytical and technical skills needed for more complex engineering challenges. In the second year, the program builds on these fundamentals with modules in microcontroller engineering, digital systems design, signals and systems, machines and power electronics, electronic circuit design, generation and transport of electrical energy, control systems, analogue and digital communications, and an embedded systems project, integrating theory with hands-on practice. The third year emphasizes independent and applied learning, featuring an individual project, commercial technology development, and optional modules such as numerical analysis, data networking, power electronics, power system analysis, concurrent systems, digital mobile communications, high-speed digital and mixed-signal design, and digital signal processing. Across all years, students gain experience in problem-solving, system design, and practical implementation, preparing them for careers in power engineering, telecommunications, electronics, embedded systems, and research. The program combines rigorous academic learning with practical, industry-relevant skills, fostering innovation and professional development in a rapidly evolving engineering field.
