COURSE CURRICULUM

The BAEcon Economics and Data Analytics program offers a comprehensive curriculum that combines economic theory with applied data analysis to equip students with advanced analytical and quantitative skills. In the first year, students gain a foundation in microeconomics and macroeconomics, mathematics, finance, social sciences, and development studies, providing essential tools for understanding economic systems and societal issues. The second year builds on these fundamentals, focusing on survey design, statistical modelling, and financial analysis, while offering optional modules in accounting, investment, and financial reporting to enhance practical skills. In the third year, students advance their expertise in data science modelling, causal inference for policies and interventions, and sophisticated applications of economic and financial theory. Optional modules include international finance, business law, corporate governance, and contemporary issues in financial reporting, allowing students to tailor their studies toward specific career paths. Throughout the program, students develop the ability to analyse complex economic and social data, evaluate policies, and make evidence-based decisions.
