COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Philosophy and Religion at the University of Manchester provides a comprehensive and interdisciplinary exploration of philosophical and religious thought. In the first year, students build a solid foundation through core modules in philosophy and the study of religions, including ethics, critical thinking, truth and truth telling, and the introduction to philosophy of mind and metaphysics, alongside optional studies in Islamic history and the sociopolitics of the Middle East. In the final year, students engage with advanced topics, including philosophy of language, metaphysics, environmental philosophy, philosophy of action, phenomenology, aesthetics, and language and oppression, and undertake a substantial dissertation to develop independent research skills.
