COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB law degree is structured over three years and combines core legal knowledge with flexible pathway options to suit different career goals. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation through modules such as Legal Method and Skills, Public and EU Law, Contract Law, and Criminal Law, alongside Academic and Career Success and AI Literacy, which build essential academic, professional, and digital skills. Year 2 continues with compulsory subjects including Critical Approaches in Current Legal Issues, Land Law, and Tort, enhancing analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities. In Semester 2, students begin to specialise by selecting modules aligned with their chosen pathway, such as SQE and CILEX, Business, or Individual, with options including Business Law, Human Rights, and Access to Justice, alongside shared choices like Real Estate and Student Law Clinic. In Year 3, Equity and Trusts is the main compulsory module, focusing on key legal principles and their practical application. Students then choose further pathway-based options such as Criminal Litigation, Employment Law, Family Law, and Intellectual Property, as well as common modules like Civil Dispute Resolution and Legal Technology. Additional opportunities include research projects and practical legal experience, ensuring a balance of theory, skills development, and career preparation.
