COURSE CURRICULUM

This postgraduate programme combines advanced computing knowledge with modern project management practices to prepare students for leadership roles in technology-driven organisations. The Agile Development module develops practical experience in software and application development using agile methodologies such as SCRUM, enabling students to manage project objectives, schedules, deliverables and team responsibilities. The Computing Masters Project provides an opportunity to conduct an in-depth independent investigation into a commercial, industrial or research problem, resulting in a substantial deliverable such as software, a digital tool, website or research study supported by professional evaluation and presentation. Digital Transformation examines how organisations use emerging technologies to improve services, innovation, collaboration and competitiveness while addressing leadership and strategic challenges associated with digital change. Managing Projects with PRINCE2® focuses on one of the world's most widely recognised project governance frameworks, covering project structures, processes, documentation and implementation strategies. Project Management Philosophies and Tools introduces contemporary project management theories, methodologies and frameworks that support organisational growth and successful project delivery. The Research Methods module develops the skills needed to conduct academic and industry research, including literature review, data collection, research design, evaluation methods and ethical considerations. Risk Management in Projects provides advanced understanding of risk identification, analysis, planning and monitoring techniques, including probability theory, financial risk assessment, decision trees and the practical use of professional software tools such as @RISK©. Students can further enhance their employability through an advanced practice internship pathway. The vocational internship allows students to spend a semester working within industry or on university projects to gain valuable professional experience, while the research internship offers opportunities to work with academic research teams, making it ideal for students interested in careers in research or higher education. Graduates are prepared for careers in project management, digital transformation, IT consultancy, technology leadership and research.
