COURSE CURRICULUM

This fintech programme provides students with the technical knowledge, analytical skills and practical experience required to understand and develop innovative financial technologies for modern businesses and financial institutions. The Big Data and Business Intelligence module develops expertise in designing and implementing databases, analytics applications and big data solutions that support business decision-making and operational efficiency. Students explore data warehouses, legacy system integration, data management and techniques for modelling and visualising large datasets to generate meaningful business insights. Blockchain, Cryptocurrency and Digital Entrepreneurship introduces the disruptive impact of blockchain technology on the financial sector and examines its applications in payments, lending, insurance, supply chain management, securities transactions and smart contracts. Students gain practical understanding of blockchain development tools while exploring cryptocurrencies, business innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities created by decentralised technologies. Contemporary Financial Technology focuses on the rapid growth of the fintech industry by examining changing customer expectations, user experience and emerging digital financial services. Particular attention is given to financial inclusion and the needs of underserved populations, while students collaborate to design, prototype and evaluate innovative fintech services using modern development tools and methodologies. The Masters Project enables students to undertake an independent work-based or research-focused project tailored to their interests and professional aspirations, allowing them to apply acquired knowledge to real-world challenges while developing research and problem-solving skills. Software for FinTech introduces the Python programming language and its applications within financial technology and digital innovation. Students learn programming principles, software structures, libraries and modules that support financial applications and automation within the fintech industry. Throughout the programme, students combine theoretical understanding with practical application while developing critical thinking, communication and technical skills that prepare them for careers in financial technology, digital banking, blockchain development, financial analytics and technology-driven business innovation across global financial markets.
